“A Premiada” (“The Awarded Woman”) shows the backstage of the theater play that had a tragic ending: the death of one of the actresses in the last performance. The play existed for real: “Rainha[(s)] – duas atrizes em busca de um coração” (“Queen[(s)] – two actresses searching for a heart”) , inspired by a text from Mary Stuart, written by F. Schiller. This production resulting in the awarding of Isabel with the Shell Award for Best Actress. Georgette won the same award two years before. However, there has never been any deaths in this performance. Playing with reality and fiction, the screenplay has humorous moments but also tragic twists, in a plot worth of the awarded actresses that play two great rival queens.
